The Vessel Insight cloud storage is designed to store various types of data collected from vessels and related data sources. Each customer is provided with their own isolated section of the cloud storage to ensure security and to accommodate customer-specific configurations. This isolated section consists of one or more partitions, with each vessel assigned to a specific partition.
Common Attributes of Cloud Storage
- Vessel Identification: All captured data is linked to a vessel using its IMO number.
- Structured Data: Data is organized according to the vessel asset model.
- Monitoring: Data streams from sources are continuously monitored for performance and health.
Customer-Specific Attributes of Cloud Storage
- Retention Period: Defined in subscription agreements and may vary.
- Data Access: Data is available through REST APIs and streaming interfaces (on demand).
- Fixed Partition: Each vessel is assigned to a specific partition.
Access control
All data access is managed by Data Access Control (DAC), ensuring customers can expose only the necessary paths to a data consumer. When using the API to look up asset paths or data points, availability may depend on the DAC configuration for the vessels.
